Brentwood's Remembrance parade leaves the Town Hall at 10.35am to the Shenfield Road memorial and St Thomas'. Roads shut from 10.15am. 2026 notice due October.

Remembrance Sunday 2026 is 8 November. Brentwood’s parade and service has followed the same timetable every year the council has published it: the parade leaves Brentwood Town Hall at 10.35am, stops at the war memorial on Shenfield Road for the wreaths and the two minutes’ silence, and ends with a service at St Thomas’ Church.

Brentwood Borough Council has not yet announced the 2026 parade. Its notice usually appears in the last week of October.

The quick answer

  • Sunday 8 November 2026. On every past year’s timetable the parade sets off from the Town Hall at 10.35am.
  • Roads close on a rolling basis from 10.15am and were fully open again by about 11.30am in 2024.
  • The 2026 notice is not out yet. The council published 2023’s on 23 October and 2024’s on 24 October.

The route

The council’s notices for 2022, 2023 and 2024 describe the same route (2022, 2023, 2024):

  1. The parade forms up at Brentwood Town Hall and leaves at 10.35am.
  2. It marches down Middleton Hall Lane to the war memorial at the junction with Shenfield Road. There is a short service, the laying of wreaths and two minutes’ silence.
  3. It continues along Shenfield Road, across the mini roundabouts at Wilsons Corner and along the High Street, where the salute is taken.
  4. It finishes with a service at St Thomas’ Church.

The Brentwood Imperial Youth Band has led it each year. Contingents come from the Army, Navy and Air Force, veterans, cadets, Essex Police, scouts, guides and local charities. In 2023 the council counted nearly 600 people marching (Brentwood Borough Council, 13 November 2023). In 2024 the salute was taken by the Lord Lieutenant of Essex (Brentwood Borough Council, 11 November 2024).

Road closures

In 2024 these roads closed from 10.15am on a rolling basis, reopening as soon as the parade had passed, and all were fully open by about 11.30am:

  • Shenfield Road
  • Middleton Hall Lane
  • Ingrave Road, between Shenfield Common and the High Street

The council also warned of bus diversions and parking restrictions on the High Street that morning. Expect the same in 2026 until the council says otherwise. The Sunday car parks are free in Brentwood: see parking in Brentwood, and our roadworks and travel page for anything else on the roads that weekend.

Where to stand

The notices do not name viewing points. Going by the route, the war memorial at the Shenfield Road junction is where the wreaths and the silence happen, and the High Street is where the salute is taken. Arrive before 10.15am, when the roads start to close.

Other events that week

Bonfire Night is Thursday 5 November, and the one confirmed borough display is at Old Brentwoods Club on Friday 6 November: see Brentwood fireworks.

Still to be confirmed

The 2026 notice: confirmed time, who takes the salute, and the road closure times. On past timing, expect it around 23 October. This page will be updated then.
